Kilowatt-hour, explained
A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a unit of energy — specifically, the amount of energy used when 1,000 watts of power run for one hour. Run a 100-watt appliance for 10 hours and you've used 1 kWh. It's the unit your utility company bills you on, and it's the same unit used to describe how much energy your solar system produces.
Why it matters for solar
When we size a solar system for your home, we're essentially matching your average monthly kWh usage (found on your utility bill) against how many kWh your roof and local sunlight can realistically produce. This is the foundation of every accurate solar proposal — not a generic percentage or sales estimate.
