Roof Requirements

Age and condition

A roof nearing the end of its life is generally best replaced before solar installation, since removing and reinstalling panels later adds cost. During your home evaluation, we'll look at your roof's age, material, and condition honestly.

Material and structure

Asphalt shingle, tile, and metal roofs are all commonly solar-compatible, each with different mounting hardware. We also confirm the structure can support the system's weight and local wind-load requirements.

Orientation and shading

South-facing, unshaded roof sections typically produce the most energy, but east/west orientations and partial shade can still work well depending on your usage pattern — we model this specifically for your roof, not a generic assumption.
